Maximize Minimalism was born through life experience. We are two working professionals in a major city who’ve spent plenty of time longing for material possessions, associating titles and wealth with success and imagining a future of abundance.
As we continued along this life path, we began to realize that possessions and titles are nice in some ways, but our lives weren’t any more fulfilled by having them.
So much gets sacrificed when we put careers and money first.
It became more and more clear that living the best life possible has nothing to do with making more money or buying things. Beyond life’s essentials like food, water, shelter and basic needs, the amount of life quality gained is less and less from each additional dollar made.
Instead, we now pursue ways in which we can live a fulfilling, meaningful life. We want to share this passion with the world – those who are seeking true fulfillment.
We believe that minimalism is both a mindset and a lifestyle. Our culture and peers both contribute to our mental state, through which our opinions and desires are formed. These feelings then motivate us to live a particular way, practice certain habits and seek out a life path centered around this.
At Maximize Minimalism, we will explore both the mindset and lifestyle behind minimalism!
We personally feel that minimalism exists on a spectrum. The intent behind minimalism is to achieve a high quality of life purely through experiences, not through material means. True minimalists look to incorporate minimalism into every aspect of their lives.
Living as a true minimalist is an honorable, noble and intriguing pursuit, without a doubt – it’s just not for everyone.
While everyone has their own opinion of what actually constitutes materialism, most of us just wish to cut back on buying unnecessary things; to live a simple but enriching life; not reduce waste and excess in our lives; to feel satisfied with how we spend our time and enjoy the environments we spend it in.
The intention behind living a cleaner, simpler life in any capacity is the same intent behind living a minimalist lifestyle! If we can help people achieve this in some way, we feel we’ve achieved our goal.
Our website’s name of ‘Maximize Minimalism’ says everything about who we are!
It all begins in the mind.
Where does materialism come from? Why do we need a certain title or car to feel successful? Are we living in a culture that systematically pushes consumerism? Who set these standards? Why do Americans have more than ever but still aren’t happy?
These are a few of the many questions we found ourselves asking prior to creating this website.
A large part of our focus is on the mind and the influence we receive from modern culture.
In turn, we dive into where social pressures come from, why we behave in certain ways and ways we can live our lives beyond what society and culture promote.
Everything and everyone we have in our lives affects us in some way. Living a life of quality is dependent on where we live, what we do and how we spend our money.
Part of our mission involves exploring ways to improve our homes, implement positive daily habits, spend money wisely and have amazing experiences.
